Firstly, thank you so much for considering me to photograph your most valuable possession, your newborn ! That is not something that I take for granted. I promise you I will capture beautiful newborn photos for your family.
Your session will be an unforgettable experience during which we will capture amazing images of your tiny bubs in my specialised newborn photo studio.
Baby will take centre stage in each image as my style is minimalistic images shot on a cream / off-white base, with little distraction from what is important, your baby !
Sessions last between 2 to 3 hours as we usually have to take plenty of feeding and cuddling breaks, the newborn is in charge, not me! Some sessions can be completed earlier if baby is out for the count for the whole thing, the record is 55 minutes ;)
Family and Newborn images are included in all my sessions, no pressure to have these if you would prefer not too, but they are lovely to have.
During the session I will go with the flow of the baby, some like certain ‘poses’ and some do not. Over many years of photographing newborns I have come to know if they do not like a particular one so we will move on from that and capture something else instead.
Most clients worry that their baby may not sleep for the session, don’t stress about this, most babies give in to me eventually but if they do not there are plenty of awake images we can capture instead.
I have everything we need for the session in my studio so all you need to bring is baby, plenty of food for them and a soother if they take one.

Every Newborn Session includes ...
- A session time of 2-3 hours with me, a multi-award winning Newborn Photographer with 10 years + experience, in my purposely designed Newborn Studio
- Use of studio props and wardrobe
- Hand retouching of a minimum of 30 images
- A private online gallery for you to view & choose your images from

How It All Works
1. Contact me
Take a read through the information on this page and then contact me using the Contact Form.
2. Session Date
I will email you all the information you need about your session and let you know a suitable date that I have available. This date is flexible depending on when baby arrives, but it keeps a place for you in my calendar once booking your booking is complete. I only book in 12 Newborns per month !
3. Booking
Once you are happy with everything and want to go ahead I will email you the booking link. This link contains a contract, a questionnaire and a payment link for the session fee. Once you've completed that I sign it from this end and you are all set !
4. Baby's here !
When baby arrives if you send me on a message, I will confirm the date of your shoot. Babies arrive whenever they decide to themselves so we will need to confirm if our original date is still ok or if we need to move your session to sooner or later.

Types of Studio Newborn Session
‘Brand New’-born Session
10 days to 6 weeks
A beautiful, natural & clean session. Shot on whites / creams, black and white versions too. Capturing pure emotion, interactions and all those little details. This session,is best scheduled for early on ,around the two week mark, babs will be lovely and sleepy and curly. We can get those fab womb like poses as well as all those new little features that change all too soon. I allow up to 3 hours for this session.
Older Newborn Session
6 weeks to 3 months
If for any reason you have missed the ‘brand new'-born stage we can still capture beautiful images of your new little one. Chances are bubs will not be asleep at all during this session but that gives me the opportunity to capture all those little personality traits, and maybe even a smile or two. I allow 1-2 hours for this session.

At the moment we are all being effected by the rising cost of living. With that in mind I wanted to offer a session that meant that you don't have to miss out on a Newborn Session for your new precious little bundle !!
This session is shorter than my full Newborn Session but we will still get beautiful images for you to treasure of this very special time in your life as a new or growing family
F.A.Q.
When is the best time to book your Newborn Session ?
Just after your 20 week scan date is a good time to book in for your newborn photo shoot. I will book you in for 10 days after your due date to keep your slot in my calendar. Once baby arrives if you pop me a message we can confirm if that date still works or we need to move your date earlier or later. For sleepy shots the shoot is best done around two weeks old. We can still get lovely images if bubs is older than that, I just can't guarantee sleeping ones.
Who can we include in our Newborn Session?
Baby is the main focus of the session but everyone can join in. Parents, siblings and fur children !! I have a toy box in my studio for siblings. Just bare in mind that the session is normally about 2 hours long so bring snacks and drinks for them. That goes for fur siblings too, as long as they can sit on command within reason I love to include them in your session. They are part of the family too !
What types of images are normally included ?
Table poses, Prop shots, Siblings shots, Family shots and all the little detail shots are normally included. If you have a preference to leave any of these out please let me know. Also if you'd prefer me to concentrate on one over the others let me know that too !
How long does the session last ?
The session lasts usually about 2 hours give or take, it all depends on how baby is feeling on the day. We take feed breaks and cuddle breaks as necessary. I only book in one baby per day for this reason, so that we can take our time. Babies definitely sense if we try to rush them ;)

Why a studio session over an in-home session ?
The main advantage of a studio session over an in-home session is that I can have the studio fully prepared and warm before our session starts so that as soon as you arrive I can concentrate on baby and we have no disturbances. Also another big one is that you don't have to tidy the house !!
